A single-variety Bobal wine. Vines were planted by Ponce's grandfather 80years ago in deep sandy soils — free from phylloxera. It is fermented, with whole bunches & local yeasts, in oak vats & then matures for 11months in 600-litre oak barrels which have previously been used three or four times. Bright Picota cherry color, perfumed nose with black fruit, scrub, & balsamic hints. Structured but balanced wine, with plentiful sweet tannins, mineral notes of sand & rock.
